基地位于银川历史名城规划保护范围内，主体建筑在东西轴线上通过不同标高的三个界面串联了基地东北侧的绿化广场和西侧区政府办公楼的前广场，并通过道路转角半开敞的公共庭院、北侧城市界面的室外步道和西侧的室外广场设计形成层层递进式的开放性界面。空间格局呼应清真寺空间形制，在主体建筑前设置庭院，四周环绕半围合的柱廊空间，塑造出静谧、安宁的空间氛围的同时形成美术馆与城市之间过渡的边界。立面局部点缀具有回族风情的装饰纹样与拱券形式，结合中庭天窗的几何图案，获得鲜明的地域特征。

The site is located within the planning protection scope of Yinchuan historic city. The main building connects the green square on the northeast side of the site and the front square of the district government office building on the west side through three interfaces of different elevates on the east-west axis, and forms a progressive open interface through the half-open public courtyard at the corner of the road, the outdoor footpath on the north side of the city interface and the outdoor square on the west side. The spatial pattern echoes the spatial structure of the mosque. A courtyard is set in front of the main building, surrounded by a semi-enclosed colonnade space, which creates a quiet and peaceful space atmosphere and forms a transitional boundary between the museum and the city. The facade is partially embellished with decorative patterns and arch forms with Hui customs. Combined with the geometric pattern of the skylight in the atrium, the distinctive regional characteristics are obtained.
